"Klaus Schmoll" (klausschmoll)

Some of you may remember that I got a love letter from the state of Brandenburg recently. It gave me a week to state who drove the vehicle at that time, and as that that was 1.5 weeks ago I thought I might deal with this today.
Turns out that this created an online account with 5-0, where I can see the pictures and state what I want to say online instead of putting the stupid form in the mail.
I printed it out on A4 paper which crops the top and the bottom a bit and makes it even better. The grainy black and white quality gives it instant artsyness, IMHO. You also can’t really tell if this is day or night (broad daylight). So this is almost Rene Magritte “La Trahison” material. The fact that the car isn’t dead center in the picture evokes the idea of speed. As in, had I been travelling even faster I might have escaped them. All in all, one of the best picture of the old girl ever.
The white bar where they try to protect possible passengers’ privacy ruins it a bit, but hey at € 80 this piece of art is still a bargain.

That’s not bad for a speeding ticket.
Does Germany have any sort of point system for tickets? If you are unfamiliar, certain types of violations are worth a certain number of points that get added or removed from your license (it varies from state to state) but if you get too many points (or run out) then your license gets revoked.
What, if anything, does this do to your insurance?

If Ansel Adams had done more work with moving subjects, this would be it.
What generation Accord is that? It looks similar to the US 5th-gen (1994-1997).

(Second-hand information alert) Germany allows, I think, 8 points before your license is revoked. Speeding can be 1-2 points. It does not affect insurance, however.

That’s pretty much it yep.
The current system allows 8 points until they take your license (not forever tho but it’s quite a hassle to get one again and not cheap at all). You get 1 point for going 21 km/h over the limit and 2 points for going 31 over in residential areas or 41 over outside of them. Points don’t affect most insurances but there might be some where you get a discount for having a clean record.

I’m quite surprised that you can barely recognize the plate. They usually get those better.

1 point on my license, insurance not involved. It is my “first” point as the others have been deleted looooong ago. No worries there.

you are close! Google “CG8”. It was the first of the “think globally, act locally” Accords when they had three versions. This one is ‘99.

It’s one of these.
Sixth generation Accord, made in Swindon in the UK.
They’re not made there any more as sales collapsed and the Accord is shortly to be dropped, unnoticed, in Europe.
